clinica dental world of smile (dental clinic)
Since 2015 MIR has its own dental clinic with a full time dentist to take care of the needs of the students, staff and their families. Thanks to volunteer dentists from New York, Columbia University, Rutgers University and Sloan Kettering, our community is able to receive extensive care otherwise not available. This program is led by Dr. James Hudson of New York and a grant from ROTARY International. Poor oral health is an important factor in academic performance, quality of life, and life expectancy. MIR’s program addresses this issue with students and their families as well as school faculty who otherwise could not access a dentist. The clinic sees approximately 600 patients a year.
